Prayer
"Prayer is like a radio! You get a better reception if you use the right frequency!"
We hold prayer meetings at various times, and once a month meet on a Saturday morning for prayer & street preaching.
Prayer Is:
- The language of the poor & needy (Psalm 86:1 & Psalm 34:6).
- Desperate prayer - less self-confidence, more God-confidence (1 Samuel 1:11 &
2 Corinthians 12:7-10).
- Praying in secret (Matthew 6:5-6)...You can't show off in private before God!
- Praying corporately & in public (genuine prayer) (Acts 4:31).
- Abiding in Christ (John 15:7), asking of Christ the things that really belong to us - power, wisdom, guidance.
- Asking big things of God & expecting big things of God (John 14:9-14).
Conditions of Prayer:
- It must be insistent, consistent and persistent. (Luke 11:5-13)
- Our lives govern our prayers and God is listening to our prayers. (1 Peter 4:7)
- If we regard or have sin in our lives, God will not hear us. (Psalm 66:18)
- We must ask for "it" in Jesus' Name! (John 14:14).
- We must ask for "it" being in God's Will & to bring glory to God's Name. (John 14:13 & John 15:8).
- We must ask & not doubt (James 1:6).
Prayer List:
- Pray for our Pastor in his ministry. For his
protection as he is in the front lines in the work he does and the
position he holds, and that God will give him wisdom in his leadership
role.
- Pray for much needed rain for our dry, thirsty land.
- Pray for those who are not well at this time - that
the Lord may grant healing to them, and that they might seek the Lord's
healing.
- Pray for those who are travelling, and/or are away from home.
- Pray for each other...
- That we may be the disciples God Wills us to be,
- That we may make time for the Lord in our daily routines today and everyday,
- That we may know the Lord's presence with us daily,
- In our daily struggle against sin, self & Satan (Romans 15:30),
- For boldness of witness (Acts 4:29-31),
- That God would give us wide open doors for witnessing/evangelising, and that we will step through those doors (Colossians 4:3-4),
- That we may lead many to Christ in our daily witness
(2 Corinthians 1:10-11).
